Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* With just five days until Michigan's Republican presidential primary, the latest WXYZ/Detroit Free Press poll shows Rick Santorum with a three-point lead over Mitt Romney, 37% to 34%.
* In Arizona, which holds its primary the same day, Public Policy Polling shows the state quickly becoming a key 2012 battleground. In a hypothetical match-up, Romney is now tied with President Obama at 47% each.
* Some major players in the religious right are rallying behind Santorum's campaign, with the Susan B. Anthony List investing $117,050 in Michigan radio spots, while James Dobson also records a radio ad for the former senator.
* The California GOP presidential primary is still pretty far off, but the new Field Poll nevertheless shows Santorum closing the gap in the Golden State. He now trails Romney, 31% to 25%.
* In Michigan's closely-watched U.S. Senate race, the new NBC/Marist poll shows Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D) with a big lead over former Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R), 53% to 32%. Hoekstra, of course, is reeling after airing a xenophobic Super Bowl ad.
* On a related note, the Hoekstra campaign is apparently trying to scrub the offensive commercial from existence.
* In Maine, Sen. Olympia Snowe's (R) primary opponent, Andrew Ian Dodge, has decided to end his Republican bid and will instead run as an independent. He's not expected to do well.
* And in Florida, Alex Sink narrowly lost her 2010 gubernatorial campaign to Rick Scott, and as the Republican governor's support collapses statewide, Sink is apparently interested in a rematch.

Please Sink Scott in Florida!
You need to watch Schmoyoho's new video on Youtube,
It's called, Legalize Everything Einstein,
You,
You just,
You just have to see what they've done with the GOP debate.
As deep throat said "Follow the money"
The root of all planks the GOP puppet candidates, is directly connected to money.
Money for super PAC ads and campaigne contributions....any extra they raise and do not spend is theirs........
I caught your show today with Pelosi. The section you did on Rove was brilliant! Here's a great recommendation for you: make your video clips, the little segments like that, key points you made from each show, available to share on all social media, specifically facebook and twitter. I'm new to your program but my wife watches a bit and said it's the top rated show. Congrats on that, but think about how much further you can reach, this massive demographic who is not plugged in, all due to sharing great points like this in the fastest possible way, not to mention that it's free. I went to youtube right after your show and all the clips are old and segments from you on other talk shows (mostly).
Real time, short clips making key take away points. That will drive me and millions of other (NEW) people to your show and the truths can be shared. When asked prior to seeing your show if i've ever seen this, i said "no, i could have cared less, but now that i sat down and watched it, i thought, hey, this is intelligent and I'd watch it again"
As voters, we must keep in mind that Mr. Santorum is not necessarily what he appears to be on the surface. He consistently uses the media to remind us of his "blue collar roots" because his grandfather was an immigrant coal miner. This fact certainly does not make Mr. Santorum "blue collar", in fact, his multi-million dollar compensation package over the past four years would state otherwise as shown here:

Other than Alex Sink, the snippets are so depressing. And just because I'm typing let me just say I HATE the Susan B. Anthony List! They are such nasty backbiting liars!
The other guy challenging Snowe in the GOP primary isn't expected to do much better either. I can't even remember what his name is off the top of my head, and seeing as how I wouldn't be voting in the GOP primary anyway, it doesn't matter that much.
If Dodge is on the ballot as an Independent, the race for the Senate seat might become a little more interesting.
Don't let the spark die folks. November is still a ways off.
if arizona will actually be in play this cycle, it could be a very long election night for the gop as they watch obama win big....
You can bet that 100% of the 1%ers are registered to vote--I wonder what percentage of the
99%ers are?
Just in case you need to update your voter registration status:
http://www.vote411.org/registertovote.php
Also, just in case you might not be able to make it to the polls on election day, several states
offer "no escuse" voting by mail:
http://www.ncsl.org/legislatures-elections/elections/absentee-and-early-voting.aspx
P.S. The website may be slightly out of date because I know RI just changed their law to accept no excuse mail ballots but they are not on the list yet. So if your state is not listed, you might want to double check with your state's Secretary of State's website
