While watching tonight's video preview, take a listen to tonight's soundtrack. (Be sure to let the ad below play out entirely before starting the song)
Executive producer Bill Wolff shares a preview of tonight's show:

Rachel,
I am becoming increasingly furious about your drumbeat for a "parade" in NYC for U.S. military veterans who volunteered to participate in the massive criminal invasion of Iraq. Think Nuremberg-the first timethe international principle that ALL troops have the OBLIGATIO)JN to refuse to fight in an illegal war. Think-UN Charter:Crimes Against Peace. This willful slaughter of a million innocent Iraqi citizens, men, women and children, wasting, a nationwide destruction, utterly, of their infrastucture, a million or more flreeing their own homeland to a multi-nation diaspora..Proud you were referenced today in the ludicrous endorsement in NYT article, having Councilwoman Quinn on your program to bleat the drums for this unecessary and embarrassing "celebration" of imposed death. NO HONOR THERE! You have been leading the rising chorus for this dreadful idea, and soon I can absorb no more. Shame on you, you now energetically join the hideous clutch of imperialists like Madeline Albright who is proud of the sanctions that caused the death of 600,000 @!$%#ING CHILDREN! Prosecute Bush. Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al..soon Obama for the same old "humanitarian interventionist" bull@!$%#. Libya yesterday, Iran and Syria tomorrow. So many glorious parades to come, right? Warmongering liberal imperialists, replicating the arguments for U.S. slaughters in Vietnam.
Since Vietnam, most Americans have stopped blaming the soldier for the politics of war. Obviously, you have not. I do not blame you for your passion against the willful political mistakes that were made by a willful, ignorant administration. A majority of Americans agree with you, but, most Americans have learned to not blame the GI's for the errors of government.
Emmet Grogan has it right! I logged on to specifically write my protest against your glorification of the mass murderers known as the U.S. invasion and occupation forces. The soldier who just took orders was the same one who pushed the jews, gypsies and homosexuals into the gas chambers. The "troops" were duped, no doubt, but that does not absolve them of responsibility. Murderers for hire they are. An economic draft the government conducted. Those who would kill for a lie do not deserve a parade, they deserve an education. Glorification of killers only encourages that behavior. Is that what Rachael is promoting?. . . more senseless killing in the name of stealing mideast oil for the multi-national corporations? Really Rachael? You seem so sensible most of the time.
Oh my gawd, Dr. Maddow, I just fell off the couch laughing! Thank you for motivating me to get off my butt, only to fall flat on it, followed by laughing it off. Thank you for being you.
This is not the year for the GOP Caucus it's the year of the GOP Circus. Hey, they have the elephants. Seriously, or deliriously, the Republican Primary is a definite three and a half ring Circus. Barnum and Bailey would be so proud, except for the competition for the clown show.
Rach:
Be careful on the criticism of the Minnesota caucus process. As a DFLer-- we have roughly the same process. It is by design a winnowing-down process from the precinct caucus attendees to county unit conventions to congressional district and then the state convention. National convention delegates are picked at the congressional and state conventions. While there are some "binding" rules to make the delegate counts to reflect the caucus night results, there are generally free to vote to reflect the current field of candidates at the national convention. It prevents national convention delegates from voting for candidates that have withdrawn from the race. The precinct caucus system is as root-democracy as you can get. It is not designed to provide results for the media on caucus night. It is designed to pick candidates and debate issues at the local, state, and national levels. It is not "brainless" like primaries that rely on 30 second ads.
I do not think it was below-the-belt to point out the fact it just for show. The beauty pageant should have at least had a singing contest or maybe a bathing suit parade. Oh crap, I just imagined Newt in a speedo. That is going to keep me up half the night now !
Dear Exec Producer Bill Wolff,
Ok, I have to agree. The 1980’s will probably go down in history as a mini-dark-ages as far as music is concerned. But that will be over shadowed by the much darker, crap-load of passenger plane crashes. All thanks to my “ hero “ Reagan. He helped kick all the experienced, unionized, expensive, air traffic controllers out of work in exchange for much cheaper, wet-behind-the-ears, scabs. And do not forget the Saving and Loan crash. That was fun also. Did that involve a bail out ?
Watched the show last night (like every night). I was totally impressed with the interview with Ted Olson! What a brilliant person! It took till about half-way through the interview to realize that he was talking in words that I could understand - as opposed to "legalese" or the language of the extremely educated. WOW!
His explanation of the the fight for civil rights for ALL was overwhelming! I have never heard it put more simply and more convincingly!
AMAZING!
