Mark Block is the man with the cigarette in that Herman Cain ad. He also ran the Wisconsin arm of the Koch-funded Americans for Prosperity. According to what look like internal records published by Daniel Bice at the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Mr. Block gave Mr. Cain an early push:
Balance sheets showed Wisconsin Prosperity Network was more than $62,000 in the hole by early February; Prosperity USA was in even worse shape, with its liabilities exceeding its assets by $110,000.
In fact, the records indicate Prosperity USA's biggest asset was nearly $40,000 that it was owed by "FOH," a reference to Friends of Herman Cain, the name of Cain's presidential operation.
A more detailed checking account says the Cain campaign owed nearly $15,000 for an "Atlanta invoice," about $17,000 for chartered flight service and $5,000 for travel and meetings in Iowa, Las Vegas, Houston, Dallas and Louisiana. The document says the Cain campaign had been billed $3,700 for iPads purchased on Jan. 4.
The Bice report suggests that the way the money went to support Mr. Cain could run afoul of campaign finance and/or tax law -- the groups Mr. Block founded were nonprofits that aren't allowed direct political involvement. Since the laws on campaign finance are not all that fiercely enforced, the story may say at least as much about the Cain campaign's roots with Americans for Prosperity.

What an inarticulate loser. I wish the GOP would stop running shill candidates and run just ONE good one! At least it would mean sticking to the problems at hand, not the circus sideshow this GOP nomination has become.
I don't see how they're going to be able to walk it back from the edge to put someone in place who could conceivably win a general election. The longer this goes on, the crazier the right-wingers get!

Cain is a stalking horse for Romney. Only Perry and Bachmann are really hurt by Cain's presence. And Perry is the biggest loser with Cain in the race. I expect to see Cain in the primaries until Romney has a lock on the nomination or some of the candidates unite around one person to challenge Romney.

There is no way Cain will get away with sexual harassment. He will go down for this as I'm sure there is proof out there. So, I hope Pilotshark is right and "another one bites the dust". I would love to see this scum bag go. As for that silly ad, I think personal liberties is what they were going for. It was a very dumb move on their part.

Also-Cain's carachter was revealed in his family's avoiding beeing seen anywhere near the Civil Rights actions back in the 60s, while benefiting from their successes.
Truly do not understand why anyone even bothers to talk to this man. If he were my family member I'd be working on getting him committed.
i agree with Stephanie, when is MSNBC gonna stop playing those stupid prison shows on Friday nights and do a replay of the earlier shows like they do the rest of the weekdays?
i don't begrudge anyone their reality show fix of depressing prison fare, but can't you reserve that crap for the weekends? i mean, make it reality during the week, and "reality show" on the weekends... the economy sucks right now, more peeps staying home on date night, and yet Friday nite is treated like a dead zone (by all and sundry)
