I clicked over and saw Steele and clicked away. The guy's a joke, and Maddow - who used to be a must see every day - is now an "if I remember." I forget more and more. Bummer.
What has changed for you? I haven't noticed anything different. Am I missing something?

To Tperky: Don't click away when you see Michael Steele. Rachel seems to be able to keep him to a higher standard of conversation than all the other pundits. And when you consider the whole show, she is stil #1.
The only reason Maddow has Steele on is because he's a clown. Maybe he doesn't have any dignity left and enjoys the attention, but what does it say about Maddow to bring the guy on just to laugh at him? Ugly. She can pretend that she really wants to get his opinion, but he's a professional liar, we all know it, just at we know he's there to amuse her. There's no news value, just piddling around playing Star Wars. Really, we need that dork to tell us the GOP has no problem lying and ignoring facts? Who didn't already know that?
For me, it's kind of a disenchantment with the left in general, and with lefty media, including blogs, in particular. Maddow's better than the rest of them - Schultz is uninformed and shows it, Chris Hayes' voice rivals Palin's in its ability to annoy, Tweety spits when he talks and drools over GOP manliness, Larry O's overbearing "gravitas" would make Colbert jealous - she's the only watchable one in the bunch. Still, between the Obama bashing, the Steele validating, and the Megan McCain flirting, (why is that overfed tart on my tv at all??), I'm done with national news. Not that we don't need left leaning talking heads; our side finally has a couple people on tv and that's a good thing. I'm just sick of the circular firing squad mentality that makes the Dems lose even when they win.

So what you're saying is people need to be on drugs to watch these talking heads? Not quite the ringing endorsement one would expect from a supposedly serious news station, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
It's not just on Rachel, although she is probably the one who gave him his street creds, but Steele pops up all over MSNBC. Any dyed-in-the-wool Republican is hard to listen to, but this guy is worse because he tries to come across as the Neo-con who has seen the light, who is glad-all-over happy that he has found reason and sanity. Two seconds of listening and you know that it is total bull crap, but he just keeps on smiling and joking and loving everybody.
Give me a couple of hours to get home and rev up Photoshop. I've got some ideas myself...

The highlighter saber is *two* highlighters snapped together, so she is in fact holding it by the handle.
She gets her power by holding the laser by the beam! Awesome!
I do remember the whole "because when I put 2 of them together they make a light saber," but if you look at the picture it doesn't appear to be 2 highlighters on top of each other. It looks like one and then the blade. It may be because of funky shading (of course), but from how it appears she is holding her light saber by the blade! Of course I do like Shelby's idea ;-)

I know Rachael likes to debate Michael Steele. I don't trust a word he says.
How can anyone trust a person who admits lying is OK because it's "politics"? The whole Republican party is one lie after another. The question to the problem is why are so many people quick to take their lies as fact, despite the OVERWHELMING list of facts that discredit nearly everything the GOP says? Rs distrust science. Not Democratic Party science, but world-reknown science. Rs distrust economics. Not Ds economic theories, but world-reknown, non-partisan economics. The list goes on & on & on. You can't trust people like Michael Steele because they'll lie against all the facts, without showing counterfacts, just to gain or keep political power. To me, a liar is the Devil. So basically, the whole Republican party is a army of devils. And Steele still has his horns & tail, despite being fired as RNC Chair. Reince Priebus is just a bigger liar.
haha, I like the way your mind works! As for having Steele on your show, of course you should! He has rarely if ever scored a logical point and it is important to hear what others are saying. Please keep having different points of view, it's wonderful!

I have more respect for Michael Steele since he has been appearing on Rachel's show. The Republicans made him look like a fool but he is articulate and presents his viewpoints intelligently and with a sense of humor. That is not to say I agree with him. Hie is a good counterpoint to Rachel and he doesn't always spout the standard GOP script.
Amen!!! I like Mr. Steele and find his insight to the Republicans interesting. It is sad that because someone doesn't have your opinion he is relegated to the point of clown. The racial invective is disgusting and sad. Unfortunately it is no prettier from the liberal viewpoint than it is from the conservative viewpoint. I thought we had grown up more than this.
I love Michael Steele as a guest. It mystefies me the way he bothers people. Their conversations are fantastic.

s either,but I will say this much,he does not come off as mean,or nasty. he might believe some policy lies,that I (we) do not agree with but at the very least he can be personable,and fun in an interview..How correct they give the GOP shill the RED lightsaber..LOL..Rachel you would have the only yellow lightsaber..I think..It has been a while since I red the original book serials,but I do not think there were any Jedi or Sith with yellow lightsabers..PERFECT..Keep up the great work..Hey people..
I think Rachel's badass enough to earn the red light saber, but the highlighter/saber will always be super awesome.

I guess NY had an earthquake today. Its a good thing the GOP and Tea Party want to shrink government. God knows how much money it would take to help thousands or millions of people during a natural disaster.

Politically, I'm about as far away from MS as one can get but kudos to him for going 1-on-1 with Rachel. I like when he's a guest - not mean, not nasty - always a good conversation with those two.

I am sending this to as many people as I can. It should be posted on all social networks....over and over again. Some in congress are complaining about military retirement pay? Give me a break...those guys have to serve 20 years to get practally nothing and they put their life on the line everyday. I hope this becomes a bill and the American public can scream to the top of their lungs to get it passed. Thank you so much.

Missed that last night, since as soon as Steele appears, I hit mute and go do something else. I check back every so often to see if he's gone yet. I would have watched the light saber match if I'd known though.
I don't like everything Steele says, but I actually like the guy. I didn't care for him when he was RNC Chairperson (that is being nice). Now, as an analyst for MSNBC, he can actually express how he feels and bring something out that maybe we didn't know and couldn't because he didn't have that option as Chair. He is a good balance to the normal "left" agenda on MSNBC. (I am a Democrat; I vote the party line). I like the real conversation that can take place when free people actually feel free to comprimise without being criminalized. President Obama and many Democrats in the House and Senate have comprimised plenty in the past 2.5 yrs. Republicans have not. I'm still a Democrat and I still don't like his positions on certain issues. I don't hate him...that's a start.
I just love Rachel. So fun and yet she can send some blows when needed! You go girl!!!

Believe or not Michael Steel is one of the few Republicans I like(well tolerate).
