I just thought of "Palimbeck Party" as a new name for what was once the Republican Party. Googling it reveals other minds akin, though they seem to prefer spelling it with captials, thus "PaLimBeck". It's kind of catchy, don't you think?
Okay, I'm gonna need to see tonights videos again before I'm absolutely sure, but .....
My wife and I agreed that the lady who stood center stage during most of the live footage awaiting Christine O'Donnell's victory speech is the same woman who was also featured in the SALT video with O'Donnell from 14 years ago. Could I get some help researching this?
Could you please put a teabag icon next to the teabag candidate names on your graphics?? It will make it easier to tell by looking who is teabag and who is traditional Republican. Thanks. :)
As a resident of Alabama I have spent my entire life around idiots like her. For extra credit, ask her to explain how she got to be 41 years old without ever getting married or having sex. Ask her to give her "testimony" on being alone for that long without masturbating.
How do we know that the Dems of Delaware didn't hop over to register as a republican to vote for O'Donnell in the primary? To those dems that did, I thank you!
About 20 seconds into candidate ODonnell's "victory speech," a woman to Ms. ODonnell's right uses her right hand in a upturned, two-fingered, "get up here!" motion, and lo and behold, a handsome young black man in a gray suit enters stage right, looking a bit befuddled and unsure of himself for a few seconds, and then takes stage direction from the same woman who was, bless her heart, trying to arrange him like stand-ins at wedding rehearsal.
Between Christine NO MASTURBATION O'Donnell and David I LUV ME SOME HOOKER Vitter - is THIS what Republicans mean when their party has the BIGGEST TENT?!
Great story. Even if O'Donnell ties Coons I mean wins she will be found out when she trys to govern. The real story is in the down ballot Democrat races. In almost every case the establishment candidate was voted out. We Dems are throwing our party piked candidates under the bus just as the Tea party is. Although we're not white trash or racist we doing our part. If these racist tea party folks would stop hating Obama long enough to think about inviting folks like me into the party we could take our country back.
The O'Donnell victory is really a victory for the Democratic party. It now shows who is rational and who is not rational. The Republican party is wise not to provide any support. Soon there will be no moderates left and the Republican party will not take the house or the senate back. In 2012 they will lose again. Angry white people and those who think they lost the country will soon be left in the dust. It will be hard November for the Democrats but in the end Tea Party will be bagged and tagged. Sorry Republicans you will never be in power again.
I recommend checking old Politically Incorrect tape/Bill Maher's 2 previous shows. I knew I should know Christine O'Donnell from somewhere. When I heard her voice it came back to me. She appeared on Maher's shows several times. Back then was when she was on her advocacy for abstinence.
She annoyed me to no end. Mostly because she'd go on and on and no one else could talk.
Small souls who seek power over others first destroys the faith those others might have in themselves- Leto II Dune
Angry Voters KNOW something is wrong and ANY change is better than the NO CHANGE we got with the Obama-Bush policies.
Economy, Wall Street, Wars, wire-tapping, Rendition, Git-Mo, NIST and USGS NOT being reported by media about 911 non-answers to "free-fall" and nano-thermite.
Well looks like Chris Matthews was right regarding Hillary support and O'Donnell. The one endorsement she wanted was Hillary's. Don't think she's likely to get it but I do find it interesting how many of these "Mama Grizzlies" consider Hillary to be one of them. I've heard this multiple times most notably from Palin herself. Might be avenue for Obama to explore in negotiating with the right in 2011.
I am not necessarily in support of or opposed to O'Donnell politically, but I do applaud her courage to publicly stand up for her beliefs. Christians are constantly being berated for their beliefs because they are not consistent with with society's norms. Yes, I concede that abstinence in all forms is extreme by today's standards. But we as Christians believe we are called to uphold the values of our faith, no matter what the world thinks. No, we don't get it right all the time, and we're constantly failing, but that's the beauty of God's forgiveness: we just have to ask for it and do our best with His grace.
Now, I'm not here to convert everyone who reads my comment. I'm just trying to make a point. As far as I can tell, we still enjoy freedom of religion. If you ask a devout person of any faith, they will tell you that they look to their god for guidance in all things. This includes guidance in their family lives, in the work place, and yes, even politically. It's ok and even expected to base your values and morals on what your religion has taught you. For example: you cannot expect a devout Quaker politician to support the war. You cannot expect a devout Muslim politician to ignore the call to prayer in favor of work. In turn, you cannot expect O'Donnell, a Christian, to condone premarital sex.
All I ask is that we respect each other's rights to worship as we see fit.
It isn't THEIR beliefs I have an issue with. It is the beliefs they try and lay on the rest of us, whether we want them or not. Whether they even follow them or not. I find that many "Christians" are just plain hypocrites and I believe in God! I am not so sure I believe in the business of religion.
A platform including "Christian" abstinence for all others violates separation of Church and State as an elected official. Many in my family came to America to escape religious persecution, which over the centuries have been the worse of all, including the crusades and the murdering of Protestants in England by the Catholics! Just look at the civil wars we allowed to spring up in Iraq!
O'Donnell can believe what she wants. My concern is her stated agenda as an elected representative contains religious overtones regarding others sex lives, and that is not what Congress is for!
@Andrea3 When you advocate for your beliefs, you're doing a political action. Publicly standing up for your beliefs is a political action. It's activism just the same as AIDS activists pushing for safe sex education because they believe in saving human lives and the quality of life.
Andrea, We are all free to practice our religion as we see fit. It has nothing to do with politics if we keep a separation of Church and State. And that means that politicians should stay out of our bedrooms and doctors offices.
It seems to me that the Tea Party wants to try and control my actions in my bedroom and my doctors office. And that is why the majority of Americans will not be joining them. O'Donnell has spent a lot of her career trying to convince folks to do only as she does. I fear that she would not allow others to have choice in things like birth control given her views. That is why I want my freedom from people who preach.
I have to wonder how many folks who voted for O'Donnell were instructed to do so by their Evangelical churches and the Christian radio stations. Everyone seems to think it Rush and Beck but I know TP people who get this stuff from the Christian radio stations. The Focus on the Family network doesn't play in most urban areas so they are under the radar. I am shocked by what I've heard on these stations. The intolerance of people who do not believe as they do is simply astounding.
OK, we need some serious questions answered from this woman. I guess the first is she a virgin and has she ever masturbated. I suspect she isn't and has!
Andrea3, danw5, It doesn't matter whether a policy is religiously motivated; all that matters is whether it's good or bad.
This policy is very bad. Christine O'Donnell's is dispensing harmful advice, both for people's physical health and their psychological well-being. People who listen to her will mostly still have intercourse - but many will not use contraception. There will be a net increase in STIs and unwanted pregnancies. Males will also see an increase in prostate cancer. This is evident in studies from multiple countries.
Of course, Christine has freedom of speech to dispense harmful medical advice. However, now she's a candidate she should be relentlessly questioned on whether she will try and get this harmful viewpoint made public policy.
Exactly the same questioning should apply if a candidate previously advocated replacing chemotherapy (which double-blind controlled studies have shown to work) with homeopathy (which doesn't), solving water shortages by dowsing (which doesn't work), or stopping annual influenza vaccinations because the virus doesn't evolve (it does).
Incidentally, if Rachel Maddow is going to continue discussing Chistine O'Donnell, I'd really like to see an interview with one of the researchers in this field, to discuss the impact of groups like S.A.L.T. on public health.

Sorry. Wrong story.

Call it a "curiosity thing".
Well, the midterms are set. The Democrats are facing off with Christine O'Donnell, Sharon Angle, and Rand Paul.
To hold the Senate, all we have to do is beat Dumb, Dumber, and Forrest Gump.

Turns out, he's her lawyer.
O'Donnell's lawyer, not the anonymous handler's... I need an editor. ;-)
Okay. I think I finally get it.

Find someone to ask her if she’s also against the adultery of remarriage--as per the Bible she’s so fond of:
I recommend checking old Politically Incorrect tape/Bill Maher's 2 previous shows. I knew I should know Christine O'Donnell from somewhere. When I heard her voice it came back to me. She appeared on Maher's shows several times. Back then was when she was on her advocacy for abstinence.

Sorry to doublepost.
Have you noticed the average heft of O'Donnell's supporters? Have they been sublimating all their sexual urges into food?

Well, the GOP keeps getting infiltrated by teanutz..........this has to help the Dems come November in some of these races.
I know more than a few GOPer's here in Nevada who are NOT voting for Sharron Angle, she's way out there for normal, moderate republicans.
