Oh god, i'm going to be ill......could you not have put him in the back of the bus? Wait, I don't think that he has ever been on the city bus with the real working people. I don't think that Glen Beck would have made it a day being locked up in the Birmingham jail, or one day being a freedom rider in Mississippi. This totally tarnishes the memory of Medgar Evers....have we all completely forgotten the past??????
He wouldn't make it one day in the entire state of Alabama. He'd think he was in Bangladesh or some third world country.
What am I saying? We are a third world country after 40 years of conservative stewardship. Rubio is probably planning to start up banana plantations and get the Teabaggers to work in the fields for a "fair" wage in Florida. Why didn't Jeb think of that?
He might as well compare himself to Jim Jones (no, the other one) as far as I'm concerned. He's leading his followers to the same dead end, at least metaphorically (one hopes).
Oh well... maybe we can meet over at the Sean Hannity boards and make fun of the Reaganites' denial of the budget deficit increases over that president's terms.
If Beck was MLK this weekend, then Palin was supposed to be Rosa Parks? I hadn't recognized the similarity till now. Palin rides in the back of a Winnebago when she's on the road for her book tours.
Tracy Knauss' superb cartoon perfectly captures the irony of Beck's conflicted opinions, here as a "fellow traveler" on the bus with Rosa Parks pretending sympathy. Hitler, like Beck, knew the power of the big lie repeated often enough and American have cause to be alarmed over the return of those aiming for racial and political purity, the "real Americans." Please post more of Knauss' cartoons on issues of the day.
I have to give Beck credit. Proceeds from the rally will go to help the children of soldiers, and he kept the focus off of his usual nasty rhetoric. He even said on FoxNews Sunday that he regrets having said Obama was a racist who hates white people/white culture. This was a conciliatory Beck acting with some integrity.
The problem is, he'll go right back to the old demagogue/ideologue today, then laugh all the way to the bank as he profits from playing a conciliatory man with integrity on TV. www.newsprism.com
See for yourself. He claims the Mormon faith, a non-trinitarian group believing that Jesus Christ was a mere prophet. Yet he held as I understand it a religious rally in DC. I wonder if the people there knew of his faith preference?
In response to the above post, although boycotting churches is not the answer, I believe it is important to understand information and gather facts, lest we follow blindly and unknowingly where we do not necessarily want to go.
Mormon beliefs about God and godhood are complex. They definitely do not view Jesus as a 'mere' prophet (more or less as in Islam, but that doesn't really do justice to Islam's view of Jesus) but neither is their view of Jesus within the historic Christian mainstream (also complex). But this isn't really the place for that kind of discussion (meaning that the subject is too big for short posts).
Slightly different topic: How would you go about boycotting a church other than not showing up on Sundays? And, unless you were a member of that church, how would anyone know you were boycotting it?
If I needed a seat back in those days, I'm fairly sure good ole' Beck would kindly oblige giving the seat to me. With all of these busy speaking affairs lately he's sure enough to be famished, lord knows how much his little mind labors to convince his writers to con disenchanted American voters.
Excellent political poster. The image speaks volumes about Mr. Beck attempting to hijack the anniversary of Dr. King's speech and civil rights. To restore honor, one must first be honorable. Mr. Beck is a fractional human with visions of granduer. Kudos to Tracy Knauss for his superb political poster and visionary insight. A picture is truely worth a thousand words.
Not many people have the audacity to attempt hijack one of the most important political and civil rights movements in history. Especially an individual that backs the same party that fought tooth and nail to stop the movement in its track. Thank you Tracy for helping to put this back in perspective.
Glenn "Wreck" is sorry he called Obama a "racist?" Hey, not to worry, little man. You've previously explained that you are just an "entertainer" and as such your "insights" on elected officials, world problems, ethics, religion, politics, immigration, finance, abortion, et al, for Fox "fair and balanced" News are part of your "schtick", a joke, for laughs, a way to get ratings, sell books, etc.
One of your really hilarious remarks, Glenn was when you said:
"It took me about a year to start hating the 9/11 families. It took me about a year. And I had such compassion for them and I really wanted to help... I was behind... let's give them money. Let's get started. All of this stuff. And I really didn't, of the 3,000 victim's families, I don't hate all of them, I hate about ten of them. But when I see a 9/11 victims family on television, or whatever, I'm just like "Oh shut up!" I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining."
Wow, with a sense of humor like that, Glenn it's no wonder you have so many people that worship you! You really are one, funny, hilarious dude!
In the end, the August 28th rally was all about the honor and glorification of Glenn Beck. And it was truly disturbing to hear one of the most divisive figures on radio and television preach unity and love. This is the man who called Jimmy Carter a "waste of skin." Who dismissed Hillary Clinton as a "stereotypical bitch." Who accused today's civil rights leaders of distorting the message of Dr. King. And, of course, who called President Obama a "racist."
Glenn Beck is nothing but an intellectually challenged propagandist & opportunist, yes the same who with the rest of the Idiot Pack at Fox propaganda channel gave us a belly full of lies, fabrications, half truths. Whipping up fear & paranoia during the Bush era
He is upto his old tricks donning the mantle of a preacher ,he is now joining hands with forces trying to sabotage our American values & spirit by promoting racism, intolerance & religious persecution.
We Americans have to come together regardless of faith, color or creed to say no to these forces.
this is all kinda of awesomesauce.
with the whole shebang!
On the money...

Don't forget that any kind of Beck messaging has to have the Goldline advertising also.
There's gold in them there revivals? Elmer Gantry wasn't kidding.
When Beck starts comparing himself to George W. Bush, then I'll begin to take him seriously. I'm not sure why the MSM hasn't made the connection yet.
He might as well compare himself to Jim Jones (no, the other one) as far as I'm concerned. He's leading his followers to the same dead end, at least metaphorically (one hopes).
hatenomor banned, steadily trolling the authors, didn't rehab. Focus on the content, folks.
Note the UA, also:
Wait, I missed hate's comments...!
Oh well... maybe we can meet over at the Sean Hannity boards and make fun of the Reaganites' denial of the budget deficit increases over that president's terms.
@hate: Hahahahahahahahaha!!!! Heeeheeeheeehohoho!
hebegone
He was in India with Gandhi, too.
Beck is a legend in his own mind.
in the bible, what does it say about the trickster, the anticrist, bearing the sign of the beast. glenn beck!!!!!
I was thinking about that exact same thing...comparison!

Most of the money is going FIRST to pay for the rally. What ever is left goes to the children of soldiers.
here's a kind of interesting blog entry regarding the head count at Beckapalooza:

interesting article, thanks for posting

A mere prophet, though a highly distinguished one, is how Muslims view Christ also. Maybe we need to start boycotting Mormon churches.

He doesn't even NEED a seat on the bus -- he looks as though he's about to rise right through the roof -- another ascension, perhaps?
