North Korea Tells Forbes That It Is Not Using Twitter, Facebook Or YouTube
"We think that there is plenty of misinformation, speculation and sensationalism regarding the reality of North Korea," said the official. "This is the hypocrisy of a society that calls itself 'democratic' but is in reality fearful of the ideological power and influence from our side."

Rachel,
You should have Thomas Frank, the author of The Wrecking Crew as a frequent guest on your show. If you have not read the book, once you do, you will see why I make this recommendation.
Keep up the good work.
Dewey, does he touch on the conservatives' deregulation of the credit card industry?
I haven't finished the book yet, but it is an excellent chronicle of the right wing and its tactics going all the way back to the early days of the 20th century. I highly recommend it.
Big Thanks, for the Jimmy Carter piece, he was a great president, and he is a greater human being. Spends weekends with a hammer, building other people's houses. I had the honor of volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, here in New Orleans, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He and Rosalynn, have long been Habitat's spokespersons. I have dreamed of working for the Carter Center, an institute for advancing peace, and human rights.
The piece on credit is good. But, why not compare what credit was like before credit was deregulated by George Bush senior, with what it is going to be like now that Obama is trying to fix it back? Or do I have to do that for you? It would have been a better piece.
Rachel, great show tonight! It looked like you were having a fantastic day, almost bouncing off the walls. It's great to see you so happy.
The Iraq trip must have been a fantastic one. It sure was to watch, especially when you got to fire a tank! That wasn't the most important part of the trip, I know, but getting to fire a tank...damn that would be cool.
The metro lines in DC was hilarious! If those people are so scared to explore all the way to the National Archives, maybe they should just stay home and watch it on Fox News!!! Reading that Constitution thing might contradict Glenn Beck, they can't have that, now, can they.
How do they expect to avoid black people at the location of the anniversary of Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech??? We listen to it every year. NPR carries the speech in its entirety.
I'm one of those people who cut up all her credit cards because of all the monkey-business with my credit card terms. Every fee you talked about, I was hit with, plus some. I'm sure I put some banker's kid through college. Even with the changes, I don't know about ever getting another credit card. I don't buy stuff if I don't have the money any more. Once I got out, I don't plan on going back.
And North Korea is a person on facebook, and male seeking men? ROFLMAO!!!
Thomas Frank has been on the show a couple times:

Thanks for mentioning Beck's rally this weekend. Another rally taking place in response: http://www.celebratethedream.org
Meantime, all that North Korea social networking is... well, I'd say it was just plain weird, but I think that word has lost all meaning when it comes to North Korea. Still, those overheated spaniels do prove on thing: North Korea has hot dogs.
There is another march that will be happening on 8/28. It would be nice to see/hear a serious discussion of what will be going on. Rev Al Sharpton would be a great guest to discuss actual issues. I am tired of white people scared stories. Who cares.

Just so you know. There is a pro North Korean group in Japan and its possible that they started those accounts
Those North Korean dogs are adorable!!!
And a great source of protein, too!
oh, c'mon, Joe, that's bad
bleah
Nice to see to see your ethnocentric superiority. I'm sure your quite proud.
Actually, Joe was accurate in what he said. I have read books by North Korea experts and defectors, and they have mentioned numerous times that dogs are routinely eaten because of the chronic food shortages. Nothing ethnocentric in the truth, mishima.
City folk in Saigon would look down on country people as "dogeaters". The snobbery is intra-cultural as well. A Filipino-American friend once remarked at an Oakland As game to an Irish-American buddy enjoying the mandatory all-American hotdog, "We eat dog but not that part!"
Considering the famine in the RNK, doubt they get much protein much less a dog prepared in a proper and surprisingly delicious fashion.
The chronic food shortages have had a disastrous effect on generations from the North. Defectors over the past decade or so are physically smaller than residents of the South, and that is true even of the military defectors. As the military gets better food and larger rations than the civilian population, this indicates that even those better off than average are indeed in very bad shape. There has been speculation that if the North ever did invade the South, the invasion would probably never get past Seoul, as the soldiers would be likely to dissolve into a mass of pillagers, especially for food.
John Stewart was beyond brilliant on 8/23. Part owner of FOX is the Muslim funding the "WTC Monque". Fire up your CISCO and talk strategy!
You 2 challenge the entire FOX crew to a debate. Maybe KO will make it 3. Hire the hall and sit and wait for them. Have a bank of fact checkers like it is a beauty contest panel.
I was attacked yesterday on Rachel Maddow's show and the Huffington Post (as well as Charles Johnson's website "Little Green Footballs" and the New York city based website allegedly about DC, DCist.com) for my Blogger post recommending that people visiting on 8/28 avoid getting off at certain metro stops. Apparently that makes me a racist.
My blog is here: www.teapartiers.blogspot.com so you can be the judge.
Famous Beltway journ-o-list David Weigel called me, and then my tea party/CPAC friend Andrew Ian Dodge (who had re-posted my 8/28 March on DC travel tips on his Maine tea party website) instant messaged me almost simultaneously yesterday around 2 pm to tip me off.
My first reply, to the "Little Green Footballs" website:
"Chas, Chas, Chas -- why such incompetence and/or dishonesty. That blog isn't from Maine, it's from DC. I wrote it and I have lived in DC since 1980. The blogger in Maine is just linking to my Tea Party blog, "Tea Party -- One Lump or Two?" atwww.teapartiers.blogspot.com. And despite your possibly legally actionable whine of racism, my injunction to strangers to not offend the local Ethiopian etc populations by making guesses about what country they are from, and my recommendation that strangers not get on the green or yellow lines and ride them out to the end of the city, had nothing to do with each other. Sorry Charlie. One again you show us what idiots you Demwits be." http://littlegreenfootballs.com/
Of course, being a chicken, Charles Johnson deleted that reply a few hours later (some of his own regulars complained that he did this) and blocked me from his website. Squawk!
(In in his defense, Johnson was just copying a story he saw at www.DCist.comwebsite, which must be run by total morons. One wonders if all their coverage of DC is this incompetent? )
But then the lemmings at Huffington Post and the Rachel Maddow show repeated every innacuracy including that it was written in Maine (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/23/glenn-beck-rally-attendee_n_691578.html). Maddow even drew a map of the DC metropolitan area purportedly showing where I said strangers would be safest to get off and wander around, incompetently leaving out all of NW DC and Montgomery County (the Red line trains I had recommended people stay on). As well as the many historically African American neighborhoods west of the rough rule of thumb line of "west of 14th street" I had offered (Crestwood, Shepherd's Park, Colonial Village, 16th Street Hegihts). Rachel should go back to Afghanistan and file more reports about how Obama's predator drone killings (unlike Bush's??) are just a delivery of essential city services, like she did last month. (Maddow had Eugene Robinson, from the little bus at the Washington Post, chortling along with her. One is surprised she didn't spend 15 minutes tea bagging with him, but then, I guess Anna Marie Cox is more her cup of tea.) And though she too falsely attributed the text to someone from Maine (the implication being they don't know DC and are 'fraid of those darkies!), she projected the text on the wall behind her so you could see "by Bruce Majors" for a few seconds.
And these people wonder why no one watches their network or reads their papers -- or supports their candidates.
Postscript
Is (almost) every journ-0-list in DC a total moron? Some gal named Andrea Stone, who rose from the ranks of USAToday to scribble at AOLNews, has now posted a piece on this where she claims she repeatedly tried to reach me. My home phone number is listed and the she' left no messages. Slate's David Wegel managed to call me yesterday and WMAL radio called this morning. Maybe they could offer Andrea (and Rachel and Eugene) an internship and some training?
By the way:

Thomas Sowell's definition of a "racist" is "someone who is winning an argument with a liberal."
That explains most of this election cycle.
Just what is at the end of the Green and Yellow lines, that you so vehemently oppose?
