The guests listed are giving me the feeling that this is going to be an exceptionally amazing show, instead of just the average amazingness. Can't wait!
I just saw the interview with the FAIR President. It was great!!! Ms. Maddow, he put you in your place. It is obvious what you were doing, but it did not work. That’s what happens when you try to go after the person’s character and not the facts. As an IMMIGRANT, I can say you don't speak for all Hispanics, So Don’t. I and all my IMMGRANT friends support the Arizona law, and wish other states adopt the same law. Why is it that MSNBC is not covering all the violence committed by the illegals at the rally in arizona like you did the Tea Party. Don't throw rocks in a glass house, you may be cut by falling glass. .

Rallies by all accounts thus far have been peaceful and civil (the signs), by everything I have searched so far.
It is sad about Robert Krentz, the rancher who was shot and murdered. The Douglas Dispatch has several articles on it. Evidence gives the appearance of possible cartel involvement.
Regarding the interview: Whether my state legislature is Republican or Democrat, I am acutely more interested in the character of the individuals and what they stand for; for each has been empowered to represent many. I can read headlines anywhere, for organizations are not shy about putting on their best faces, and opponents are not timid about spotlighting their flaws. But the individual ties are more difficult to follow.
Who now can say, they would not have liked to know the personal character of the Goldman Sachs executives, by which they were unable to separate professionalism and personal interests?
nice try armando. dan stien was blubbering incoherently while rachel presented substantial inconsistencies in "fair's" misrepresented credibility. it was painful to watch this hack completely come unglued as the partisan racist he and his organization is. in fact armando, i'll be a hundred bucks you aren't who you say you are either.

Easy way to take care of immigration is the same method European countries are doing it. No need to profile...impose extensive fines for those who hire, house, sell, etc to immigrants. Why recreate the wheel...we have plenty of other problems that "are not new" and yet we spin our wheels to provide a fix when we just make things worse. I can give plenty of logical answers to many of our problems..but common sense is just too easy.

Absolutely! I couldn't believe that all he kept replying with was that what she was saying wasn't true even though she had sources and everything. At one point he couldn't even reply, just stared blankly. Bummer that he wouldn't give any real answers but I love that Rachel wouldn't let up on his B.S. and it's pretty obvious he had no counter argument because he was WRONG!

Not really, I'm afraid. I was annoyed that she wasn't talking about FAIR's actions. I get her point - FAIR associates with folk that associate with bad people. Um, ok. Frankly, I thought Dan Stein came across better. She just spent time badgering him about the bad things the people associated with the people associated with FAIR have done. I don't like that sort of guilt by association game when it's played by the Republicans. Not sure why I should like it when my side does it.
It's no wonder FoxNews is cleaning your clock, Maddow. I listened to your rant about the Arizona law for a minute before continuing on with my channel surfing. One interesting thing I noted was your cut-up quote from Marco Rubio and your pronouncement that he was opposed to the Arizona anti-ILLEGAL immigration law. I guess it was just a fortunate circumstance that when I flipped to FoxNews, there was Marco Rubio being interviewed by Sean Hannity. What was even more interesting was his statement that, while he had concerns that law enforcement officers might be placed in difficult situations because of this law, he understood why Arizona had to pass the law, since the Obama administration has been ignoring border security and the ILLEGAL immigration problem. Nice try, Maddow. And you're supposed to be a Rhodes scholar? Oh, also, read the law, because judging from your "papers please" quips, you have no clue what it says, just like Obama and his 'going out for ice cream' story.

Wow Rachel, this FAIR guy was a tough interview and you were marvelous in your debating skills. You should have him back, we all enjoy "wasting time".
I was really nervous about this interview because I knew it was going to be heated and I didn't want to see Rachel talk over and dismiss people like Bill O'Reilly does on a regular basis. She DID NOT! I was very proud of Rachel for maintaining a reasonable disposition considering the other end of the conversation. However I do wish that with the questions she was able to ask that she would have asked about the bill and went down that road.
He was an arrogant son of a pup....she was nicer to him than he deserved. He didn't answer anything..just tried to spin it all....
Ever since this life long republican, me, voted for Obama, I have watched your show every night either at 9 or 11. It was my favorite. I watched your interview with the guy that wrote the immigration bill for the state of Arizona, and after the way you treated him and by not letting him talk about anything other than your stupid accusations about something 25 years ago, YOU SHAMED ME. I will not be watching your show anymore other than channel surfing. You were nothing more than an ass.
I think she was making the point that the organization including the gentleman himself, have a history or surround themselves with people that have a seperatist position. But she did let him talk if not control the conversation- so??? Good luck finding a different news show that would treat the same situation any better.

Rachel, I'm an avid fan of your show, however I felt that your interview with Dan Stein was pretty weak. A number of times, I counted two or even three degrees of separation between the subjects of your questions, and their relationship with FAIR.
While I find the AZ law repugnant, and by extension, the people who wrote it, I'd really love to see a more direct line of questioning in the future.

I just watched Rachel Maddow beat the living daylights out of the unFAIR guy. That was one hell of a segment!! I will be sorely disappointed if there is not a follow up by NPR, Bob Garfield, Brooke Gladstone and David Folkenflick. It was a riveting moment to watch the guy try to filibuster Rachel and how she just calmly went about nailing him at every turn. Rachel you rock!!!
Yea, I just normally don't watch TV to see people treated like she treated him. It seemed really rude. And calmly? She didn't seem calm to me.
I guess we just have to disagree. I thought she did a very good job. You on the other hand do not agree. That is why are live in this country. We are free to agree or disagree with one another.

Just watch Raddow give it to Mr. Stein from FAIR, who sponsered the immagration bill in AZ. Loved it. I think she has done something no one else was willing to do and that was looking into the history of the organization that sponsered the bill in AZ. If we didn't know already we know now that the organization behind it has a history of bigotry and racism against non white european groups. I glad that they were exposed for what they are.
Not surprisingly this FAIR dude is a complete and total douchebag. Rachel, you ROCKED! That was completely awesome. My time was not wasted!

I agree with everything he said and nothing that you said. You did not listen to him...you were too fixated on tearing him down rather than listening to him. I got so angry that I almost turned you off. You were not unbiased, you were inflammatory, and you were not enlightening me about real facts. Again, i agree with Dan Stein's criticism of what you were doing - he was right on. I was really disappointed in you.

Um, Henry? Do you like it when rednecks tell folk "if you don't like it, you can just leave." ? I don't. One of the big wonderful things about Maddow's show is that it *doesn't* feature the angry talking over one another that is a staple of the right wing. Tonight went into that territory, and it's disappointing.
I am in total agreement with padeutschman. I also consider myself a loyal watcher and love the way your show is well researched and you hold people to a level of honest discussion that I can't find anywhere else. But tonight I was embarrassed and disappointed by your interview with Dan Stein. While the facts you brought up may be true, anyone who has taken high school debate (or pays attention to the news, or courtroom trials, etc) knows that you can paint a very innacurate picture, all while saying only true things. I can't even say that your portrayal of FAIR was unfair because your interview was never even able to reasonably discuss that issue. Dan Stein's criticism of you tonight was right on. You spent your interview trying to prove guilt by association and it makes me sad because I had hoped that you were above this sort Fox type tactic.

Your strength is your ability to master the policy and ask pointed questions and debate the hard points.

Your goal was to show that FAIR is not a moderate group based on funding sources and associations with individuals who have made outrageous statements. Your "evidence" did not amount to anything more then side issues, and much seemed quite dated.. Investigating the self interest in the T party organizers is interesting theater but not very useful. Tonight's show was a waste of my time and ugly theater. I actually went to read some of FAIR's policy positions following your show. I missed opportunity... You should have the fellow back on and debate the real issues.
